Places Where Drivers Get to Go
August 15, 2021
Some things might as well be invisible as there’s a lot of people who never get the opportunity to see them. I’m talking about unique places-the ones that people would absolutely visit if only they were in close proximity to them. That’s the great thing about being a truck driver. You actually get that chance to see unique things and learn more about the states you travel, making you the envy of the desk-bound.
Just where are some of these places? Everywhere. For instance, in Georgia, located seven miles north of Elberton along Highway 77, a person can find “America’s Stonehenge.” This is a tourist site with tall, 19-foot granite stones. Written on the stones are messages about preserving mankind in a dozen different languages. Interestingly enough, no one knows who made this amazing attraction.
The site in Georgia is only the beginning. There’s also places like the Longaberger Basket Building in Newark, Ohio. It stands seven stories high. The handles alone equal 150 tons. How many trucks do you think it took to transport those? For those interested in seeing it, better make plans soon as the big yellow building is currently on the market for $6.5 million.
There’s also the Eiffel Tower located in Paris, Texas. This one, of course, is topped with a giant cowboy hat. The tower is 65-feet tall with a 3.5-foot-tall hat. There’s also some beautiful lighting on it that can be seen at night.
Doesn’t getting the chance to see all these great places sound awesome? As a truck driver for Millis Transfer, you get that opportunity. Give us a call at 1-800-937-0880 and find out more about all the perks of being a member of the Millis Transfer team.
