It's What You Need To Survive

There’s nothing quite like going to a restaurant and finding it closed. Thanks to the pandemic, that’s definitely been happening. Perhaps in more numbers than we realized. According to an economic impact report from Yelp, more than 57,000 restaurants closed permanently due in part to COVID 19. Wow! That's a lot of restaurants.

Of course, this has made options for truckers more limited, but we are finding some innovative ways to accommodate food shortages. Some companies have been bringing meals out to truckers and even letting them park in the parking lots. Others are discovering that bringing your own food can be a healthy, and more economical way to have lunch on the road.

Eating lunch alone is no becoming more of the norm, as contact with people has been more restricted. Does this restructuring make a difference? What we find in all of this change, is that the shift in the way business is conducted has introduced us to some interesting, often seamless, and safer ways of taking care of business and going about our daily routines. For instance, there's an article in the American Express Blog that suggests there's been a big shift in trucking to paperless and contactless commerce. And more and more truck driving companies are onboarding new drivers virtually. Visual orientations have expanded. This means having up-to-date technology has never been more important.

At Millis Transfer, our drivers are better equipped to handle the challenges of COVID 19 because they have access to the technological resources they need. Is your company providing you with better technology and the access you need to safety resources? If not, don’t you think you want to be a part of a company that can open a gateway of opportunities, all while keeping you safe, especially in times of uncertainty? Then, what are you waiting for? Give us a call at 1-800-937-0880 to learn more about the benefits of working for Millis Transfer.
